Dublin are through to the Quarter Finals of the first ever Secret Wars Euro League! The biggest Secret Wars Euro League battle ever to take place on these shores will commence this Saturday at 8pm. Due to the the noise levels generated from the previous crazy atmostphere this bout will take place in Mill Street Studios, Dublin. ‘Its been a long road with wins and losses, but now its make or break time if we want to advance to the semi! Up next are our old rivals and original hard hitters, Team London‘.
Dublin are 2:1 down from the away leg so they’ll need all the support they need for this potentially historic occasion. IrishStreetArt.com were informed that this event is a ‘BYOB’ Battle! There will be no bar, but there is an off-licence only two minutes round the corner, so make sure you come fully stocked!

A successful ADW Exhibition 28 April 2010

By all accounts ‘Stensual‘ the ADW exhibition that took place in The Back Loft, Dublin was a complete success. Here are a few photos of the opening night taken by Emma Casey.
According to Donna Kiernan from La Catedral Studios ‘The exhibition was a huge success especially considering it was his first solo show. There were loads of people there for the opening on Thursday (15th)and a lot of interest from the press. ADW got reviews all over the place – MetroHerald, Irish Independent and The Daily Mail. He ended up selling about half of the work on the night.’
‘The work was classically slick, smart and hilarious. My personal favourites were “Don’t Pass Go” with the monopoly man being dragged away by the gardai and Mary Harney ala Charlotte’s Web dreaming about Colonel Sanders which is stencil directly on our wall and we now get to keep here forever.’

Konk has been writing graffiti for 6 years. The Dublin based artist describes his style as ‘bright modern contempory’ and has a love for ‘big drippy tags, throw ups and all aspects of graffiti’. Konk has been working with Dublin city youth service, teaching classes privately to both kids and adults.
In 2008 he was arrested for €14,000 worth of damage and received a 2 year suspended prison sentence in the high court including 240 hours community service and a €5000 fine. Funds were raised to pay off this fine through the successful ‘Free Konk’ art raid.
Having completed his stint on probation Konk is now concentrating on getting a website together and organising a book of irish graffiti and his work……
