Jack Douglas is an artist/illustrator who create’s a mix of cartoon and surrealistic figure work. “I draw inspiration for my characters from watching animation during my upbringing, to discovering social realism and political art at a later age. I like to provoke thought, but at the same time I like to make people laugh with the satire of my images”
Below is a collection of the Melbourne native’s current body of work. Douglas told Irishstreetart.com that he intends to move to these shores in a few months for his final semester at art school and hopes to exhibit in Ireland with like minded artists. Sydney has to be seen to be believed. Between the Oprah House and the Botanical Gardens, the city has some incredible sights. The nightlife is good but there is so much to do during the day. Sydney’s beaches are brimming with surfers carving the amazing waves and Irish back packers freckling themselves silly! On a visit to Bondi Skatepark, one beautiful Australian winters morning I photoed some colourful and clean local graffiti. The wall pictured below faces never ending sets of waves from the incredible Pacific ocean. It’s the type of place you’ll never forget.

Queensland is as beautiful as Cairns is messy. However Fitzroy Island, just off Cairns was one of my favourite snorkelling spots in Australia. On my way to contact my friends in an internet cafe, after an incredible swim around the island’s coral, I came across a graffitied lane. The Ozy sun had faded a lot of the paintwork and fruit bat droppings were everywhere so a certain amount of photoshopping was done before these pics were posted.
